A Faith beyond Time

“You are My witnesses,” says the Lord , “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.
Isaiah 43:10 NKJV

Isaiah wrote these beyond 2 spectrums of future events. Firstly, he wrote these before the fall of Judah to the Babylonians in 582 BC and possibly after the fall of Israel to the Assyrians in 722 BC. Secondly, God's Prophecy through Isaiah went beyond this and also predicted the return (43:4-7).

The question is, how would the people at that time believed in Isaiah when these predictions have yet to happen? In fact, even when it did, they still did not believed in God. (Read Jeremiah 43-44).

My point? Our faith is not contingent upon our material status nor circumstances. It is more real than blessings and miracles, more secure than signs and wonders; it transcends beyond time as recorded in history. In Isaiah 43:10, God proved his worth to Israel, written in words only to be fulfilled hundreds of years later, and still continues to be fulfilled, and witnessed by generations that surpassed those of his time.

Hence indeed as we look past history, if we believe it, there is no other proof that is required other than these very words that were preserved through generations, to know that there is no other Gods beside him.
